The Concept Style Coupe or the CSC has a design study and the first photograph was released by the German car manufacturer recently prior to its debut at the Beijing Auto Show this month.

The Mercedes-Benz CSC appears to be an evolution of the earlier F 800 Style Concept which made its debut during the motor show in Geneva back in 2010. The car also adopts styling elements from the A-Class concept car which was displayed in the halls of the auto show in New York last year.

The new MFA platform of the German car manufacturer, which was first used for the production of the A-Class, also supports the build for the CSC. The expected rival sedan in the form of the Audi A3 is 4636 mm long which is about 46 mm longer than the C-Class sedan today.

The concept model will have under its hood a 208 horsepower gas engine, the same turbocharged 2.0L direction injection powerplat with four cylinders that is currently being used for the new A25.

The CLS or the CLA will have gasoline and diesel engine choices as the A-Class hatchback which includes an AMG variant that is equipped with a 2.0L turbo making it produce 320 horsepower and an all wheel drive configuration.

Unlike the hatchback offering from Mercedes, the 4-door coupe compact will be hitting the showrooms in North America.

The sixty second ad spot of Toyota is entitled “Reinvented” which is consistent with the theme of the first commercials although this new one has a more humorous and cheeky tone.

According to the marketing executive from Toyota, reinvention is the central them during the redesigning process of the Camry which is among the most popular vehicles in the United States. Toyota has chosen the Super Bowl as it is a great venue to get the message across the consumers and spotlight what the 7th generation Toyota Camry is all about.

Toyota will be airing Reinvented as one of its two thirty second commercials during the football game on 5 February.

The styling of the Suzuki GSX-R1000 remains the same but the revisions for this version makes it the best of its kind ever.

The designers and engineers trimmed off about 2 kilograms from the motorcycle’s weight and also incorporating Monoblock calipers from Brembo to improve the bike’s braking capability and an improved engine to give it a more aggressive mid-range power.

The technical highlights of the engine include the use of MotoGP derived techniques and analysis to check the elements and fatigue of the bike. This paved the way for the creation fo new pistons which are 11% lighter for better performance and acceleration. The engineers also shaved off 2.5g per tappet by using a finer material to build them which leads to more efficient valve lift . The compression ratio of the engine is at 12.9:1 from a 12.8:1.

Aside from the Monoblock calipers from Brembo, the 2012 GSX-R1000 also gets some enhancements for its chassis, like lighter axle and front tyre, to give it better maneuverability. The superbike is also now using a 4-2-1 exhaust system which is lighter than the setup of its older sibling. The new exhaust features a silencer made from lightweight material titanium.

The GSX-R1000 is a proven performer on the tracks as it barely missed the Superbike Championship in Britain by only 0.0006 seconds. It als holds the lap record for the Brands Hatch Superbike.

The 2012 GSX-R1000 is set to make its debut in Europe during the Eicma International Motorcycle Exhibition this November in Milan.

This will enable a joint venture in the ability to bring on a production for cars and SUVs that have a market in the US but are manufactured elsewhere. The investment of $1.3 billion which has been chalked out for this is going to be divided equally amongst both the car manufacturers that is Fiat and Chrysler. The initial plan is to make about 280,000 cars. These cars are going to be sold locally in Italy, in the whole of Europe and the North American market as well.

The new Alfa Romeo was unveiled by the chief executive officer in the plant at Turin amidst the workforce. The workers were told that this is the perfect platform for Italian car makers to go on and showcase the kind of work that they can have done. Also, it will give them a cutting edge to be able to compete in the global scenario. The plant has all the possible infrastructure, tools and resources to be able to become the very best and make cars that can be sold around the world.

Honda aims to make the EV scooter which is about the same size as a 50cc motorbike appeal to consumers in Japan. The company will start leasing EV-neo in Japan by December of this year. According to insiders, Honda is not planning to release the scooter immediately in other countries but is seriously looking into the Chinese market which can translate to an EV scooter demand of around 17 million per year.

During a recent test ride with the press, Honda executives explained that their engineers are set to adjust the performance of the EV scooter to make it click on the market.

Honda has not yet announced the sticker price for the EV-neo but they claim that it will be somewhat similar to the tag price of a gasoline powered scooter given that running costs, power expenses, and maintenance are put into account.

Charging of the scooter’s battery to 80% of its capacity will only take about twenty minutes when a fast charger is used. Normal charging takes about 4 hours.

Honda’s competitor, Yamaha is also planning to launch their own version of an EV scooter is going on sale before the end of 2010. Yamaha is also planning to market this in Europe and in Taiwan.

The primary reason that bikes are cheaper to insure than cars is that the amount of damage that you can do on a bike is substantially less than the damage you can cause with a car. The biggest expense when buying insurance is the liability insurance, the coverage for damage you do to other people. If you cause an accident whether on a bike or in a car you can pretty much be assured of getting sued. The amount that you get sued for is going to be determined by the amount of damage that you caused. Since the damage a bike can cause is so much less the amount you get sued for will be less. Which means that the amount the insurance company has to pay will be less, which translates to lower premiums

It is also usually cheaper to get insurance that covers damage to your bike than it is to get insurance that covers damage to a car, although this isn’t always true. Since bikes are cheaper than cars in most cases, the cost of repairing damage to them is usually less. However this is offset by the fact that bikes are more likely to be damaged since they get into accidents more frequently. The result is that insurance to cover damage to your bike may or may not be cheaper than that for a car, there are a number of factors at play here. Obviously it all boils down to which insurer you choose too. In the UK, the choice is simple because they have specialized insurers like Carole Nash, but in the US – even the specialized insurers are spread all over the place, with huge differences in cover and rates.

One way that bike insurance can cost less than car insurance is personal injury coverage. A driver of a car is covered for personal injury with a standard insurance policy. This isn’t true with bikes, a rider of a motorcycle has no personal injury coverage unless he purchases it separately. Although you can save money by not getting personal injury coverage it is not a smart idea. The reason that motorcycle riders aren’t covered by their regular policy is the high likelihood of injury, it would be foolish to not protect yourself.

Insurance is expensive no matter what you are insuring, however insuring a bike is much cheaper than insuring a car. If you want to save money on your transportation costs a good way to do it is with a motorcycle, not only are the cheaper to insure but you will also save a fortune on gas.

Along with SAIC, GM’s China based partner, the company showed off three new concepts in the personal mobility category, all able to seat two people.

EN-V, by the bye, is an acronym. It stands for Electric Networked Vehicle. The three are named Xiao, which translates into Laugh; Maio, which translates into Magic; and Jiao, which translates into Pride. That is the one pictured here.

You might be thinking, as I did, that no one would ever have any use for such vehicles. But consider the crowded streets of Shanghai and other major cities in China. These might be just the thing.

When it comes to BMW, I am pretty much impressed with everything that this particular company has to offer – the only thing that I am disappointed in is the fact that I can not afford one of these awesome cars.  Like the 2011 BMW 535i for example, this car was actually just priced at just under $60k and I have to say that while it might be worth it … it is almost not worth it either.

Personally, I think that the 2011 BMW 535i is one of the greatest cars out there, it comes with everything that you would expect and not expect from a car that is considered luxury and it truly is one of those cars that a lot of people do not really think about.

However … the price is definitely something that needs to change.  Hopefully one day!
